Machismo en adolescentes

Cada vez son más los estudios que ratifican el aumento de la prevalencia de una mentalidad machista entre nuestros adolescentes.

En concreto nos hacemos eco de uno publicado en el 2015 por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid que indica que el 24% de los jóvenes presenta riesgo de cometer en el futuro abuso de género.

Son jóvenes que se identifican con el modelo sexista de dominio, control y sumisión, porque lo han aprendido de su entorno más cercano, acostumbrados a oír mensajes directa o indirectamente relacionados con una justificación de la violencia y una relación de dominio-sumisión en la pareja.

Nosotros en consulta, hablando con los adolescentes que se identifican con un modelo de igualdad en las relaciones y de respeto de la individualidad de cada uno, constatamos su sorpresa ante la existencia cada vez mayor de amigos y compañeros que hacen de sus relaciones de pareja un entramado de maltrato verbal, posesividad y celos.

Muchas veces este ejercicio, tanto en el que pretende dominar como en el que asume el rol de sumiso, está íntimamente relacionado con una baja autoestima y con problemas de inseguridad que vienen de mucho antes, y en este sentido es importante cuidar desde que son niños qué y cómo se les dice, y sobre todo cómo se actúa delante de ellos y lo que se les transmite a este respecto.

Apuntamos aquí el dato de una Guía publicada por el Ministerio de Sanidad, Política e Igualdad, a modo de cómic, que se puede descargar desde su página web, «Pillada por ti», dirigida a los jóvenes, que muestra, en un lenguaje adecuado a ellos, las diferentes formas de violencia machista que se dan y de hecho se ejercen en el día a día muy cerca de ellos, para concienciarles y ayudarles a evitarlas.
